About us:
When I started creating natural skin care products, it wasn’t because I was looking for a hobby or an income stream. It was out of simple necessity.
My son has eczema and I spent hundreds of dollars on skincare products to try and treat his skin. They weren’t working, and I was also concerned with the ingredients in these products. As a result, I started out making all natural body butter, progressed to soap making, and the rest is history.
I quickly realized that I wasn’t the only person looking for high-quality, natural skin care products, so I founded Metanoia By Chikaya with the push and support of family and friends.
Metanoia By Chikaya also helped on my journey for self discovery. I was being creative while finding a craft that fulfilled my sons needs, my interests and was something I enjoyed doing.

- If a product misbehaves dues to a lack of oversight on our part; a refund will be considered on a conditional basis.
- If product contains an allergen please alert Metanoia By Chikaya directly BEFORE purchase of all allergies to better accommodate. If this is not done so then you relinquish all liability from Metanoia By Chikaya.
- We do not offer refunds or replacements for stolen packages so please ensure your package is delivered to a safe location. We do not do signature confirmations for package delivery.
- We ship all of our packages through USPS and on rare occasions there will be slow delivery. We do not offer refunds for delayed packages.If a package appears to be lost in the mail, we wait 2 weeks from the date of shipping before refunding or sending replacements.
Order Cancellation:
Unfortunately, once an order is placed there is no way to cancel.
Damaged Product:
If product is damaged, open or broken. Please notify us immediately.
Warm weather Disclaimer:
During very warm weather, products may soften or even melt in transit as they sit in warm mail trucks, mailboxes or on front porches. Because our products are made with natural oils and butters, slight seepage is normal however we have done everything we can to minimize this. We do not use synthetic stabilizers or waxes. We do not formulate our light and fluffy body butters with any beeswax. As a result, our delicate natural products packaged in glass jars and metal tins are sensitive to temperature changes. Because our whipped butters are handmade, there is some variation in volume between batches. Some batches do not whip as high as others, and thus do not fill the container all the way to the top. This is rare, but it does not mean that you have received less, as the weight of product placed into each container remains consistent. We do not re‐ship melted product because the butter is still effective and usable, even in a melted state.
Before opening:
Whipped Butters: Place it in the refrigerator. The melting will not affect the quality of the whipped butter as a great moisturizer, but the whipped consistency will change. It will become more like a body balm.
Whipping adds tiny air bubbles (just like whipping cream) that increase the size, lighten the density and change the texture, making the butter light and fluffy. If a whipped product melts, the air bubbles are collapsed, so the volume is decreased. So although the jar was filled to the top, if the butter melts, there will be less volume in the container. The container may actually look half full.
We have had customers scoop out the butter and whip it back up with an electric whisk beater. The butter has to be very cold for this to work.
Sugar Scrubs: Place in the refrigerator. As it begins to harden up--give it a stir and place it back in the refrigerator until firm. Again because it is a whipped product, the container will have less volume as the whipped butters melt.
Shipping and Local Pick up:
Once a product order is placed you will receive an immediate confirmation email. Please allow 24 hours for your order to fully process. Once processed please allow 7-14 business for an order to be shipped or ready for pick up. Order processing time for special request scents and soap loaves are 14 to 21 business days. After sales, processing times go up to 14 to 21 business days and 21 to 28 business day for special request scents and soap loaves as it is being made with love and quality! All packages are shipped via the United States Postal Service (USPS). We are currently unable to process rush and overnight orders. We DO NOT refund or replace stolen packages so please ensure that your package is delivered to a safe location. We include tracking with every package and once it has been marked delivered by USPS we assume no further responsibility, although we will do our best to correct the situation. If a wrong address is provided and the package is shipped there, customers must pay for re‐shipment. If a wrong address is provided and the package is returned to us, we issue a full refund.
For International Orders- Your shipping rates are a bit pricier, with a longer shipping time Please allow 48 hours to have your order processed. Please allow 2-4 week shipping time as well.
Be mindful if you are purchasing body butters internationally there is a possibility that your product could melt in transit.
